CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — For the first time, the Coastal and Estuarine Research Federation will be live streaming from their annual conference in Mobile, Alabama. You can see HRI’s Chair for Coastal Ecosystem Processes Dr. Mike Wetz give a plenary talk LIVE from the meeting from 3-4:30 p.m. CST Wednesday, Nov. 6. The topic is “Coastal Science Outreach: Citizen Science and Communication.”

Nearly 1,500 estuarine scientists, managers, students, and professionals from academia, government, nonprofit, and related organizations will gather on November 3-7 at the Mobile Convention for the 25th Biennial Conference of the Coastal and Estuarine Research Federation (CERF). The CERF 2019 theme of “Responsive, Relevant, Ready” provides an exciting opportunity to connect science and society in the collective goals of preserving coastal and estuarine habitats, resources, and heritage.

This year's CERF conference is Co-Chaired by HRI Associate Director for Research, Policy and Development and Endowed Chair for Socio-Economics Dr. David Yoskowitz. Dr. Jennifer Pollack, HRI Chair for Restoration and Conservation co-chaired the conference's Scientific Program Committee, with Wetz on Oral Sessions and HRI Ecosystems and Modelling Endowed Chair Dr. Paul Montagna on Plenary Sessions.
