Abigail grew up in California, where she and her family frequented the beach every weekend. These trips eventually helped foster her love and curiosity of the ocean. Now that she’s in college, Abigail’s main goal is to become a marine biologist dedicated to preserving the world’s oceans. Her first step took her to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, where she now helps to carry out research on oyster reef conservation and restoration in the Coastal Conservation & Restoration research group at the Harte Research Institute. Abigail hopes to gain more experience and eventually be able to travel abroad to conduct further research. In particular, she would like to research the coral reefs of the world, so that she may one day be able to assist in the fight to preserve them.
