Elani Morgan, M.S.
Elani Morgan is a research specialist in HRI’s Coastal Ecosystems Processing lab. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology (2008), and a Master’s degree in Biology (2010) from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi. Her graduate research focused on the stable isotope ecology of bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) along the Texas Coast. In her time at HRI, she has participated in field and lab research investigating effects of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill on offshore benthic communities in the Gulf of Mexico, as well as the importance of freshwater inflow to estuarine communities along the Texas Coast. She has been an active volunteer of the Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network since 2004, and frequently assists with marine mammal stranding response in the Coastal Bend.
