Aneena is a graduate student in the Ecosystem Science and Modeling lab at HRI. She is currently doing her PhD in Coastal and Marine System Science and working as a research assistant with Dr. Xinping Hu. Her project is focused on the coupling of coastal alkalinity and sediment sulfur cycles in semiarid estuaries.

Aneena completed her Masters degree in Hydrochemistry from Cochin University of Science and Technology, India in 2022. Her Master's thesis focused on the development of modified zeolite 13X for the separation of carbondioxide from a flue gas mixture. She worked as a project associate at CSIR (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research)-National Institute of Oceanography, India on the project titled "Vishakapatnam coastal time series observatory to monitor the biogeochemical processes" in Bay of Bengal. She is interested in studying ocean biogeochemistry and the impact it has on global climate.
