Dijani Laplace is a research assistant for the Socio-Economics Group at the Harte Research Institute. His is currently working on the “U.S. Virgin Islands Ecosystem Services Approach to Support Hazard Mitigation and Resiliency Planning” project where his tasks include literature reviews, collecting and analyzing data and providing logistical support. He received his B.S. in Biology from the University of the Virgin Islands. Prior to graduating, Dijani participated in the Emerging Caribbean Scientists Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) in 2018 where he worked with Dr. Renata Platenberg on terrestrial wildlife research in the USVI. He also interned at the Virgin Islands Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (VI- EPSCoR) in 2020. Dijani has keen interest in environmental and ecological issues in the Caribbean and hopes to pursue his M.S. in the near future.
