Toi is the Project Coordinator for the Oyster Resource and Recovery Center (ORRC) at the Harte Research Institute.

With a background in Psychology, she has experience working as a counselor in public education for over a decade, grant project coordination, school safety, private practice therapy, and court-ordered home studies for adoption and divorce cases. Toi was also an adjunct professor at Victoria College for many years before moving to Corpus Christi in September 2023.

Her dad was a rice farmer and cattle rancher when she was young, which fostered a passion for being outdoors with all of the aquatic biota that rice farms attract. Her mom has worked in education for 50+ years. Toi followed in her mother's footsteps working in education for many years, and came to HRI looking for the opportunity to blend her love for nature into her experience working with people and education.
